General Function :
Facilitate student learning using the Edgenuity platform, including progress monitoring, student conferencing, re-teaching as needed, monitoring online activity and course progress, and motivating students.
Education / Training / Experience
Basic minimum requirements are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District.)
Minimum : New Mexico Public Education Department Teacher license.
Preferred : Bilingual English / Spanish
Knowledge / Skills and Abilities :
Candidate should be knowledgeable in best practices, Common Core State Standards, and NM state priority standards. Candidates must be able to work with others and be able to follow core curriculum and mandated grant requirements. Candidates should be able to produce documents related to NMPED / SFPS reporting requirements and to promote the summer program to families. Basic computer skills (MS Office / web based applications).
Essential Job Functions
All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the organization. Current essential functions include the following :
- Adhere to school and district policies.
- Supervise students.
- Establish and maintain a safe and welcoming classroom environment that focuses on student growth, progress, and mastery of content.
- Maintain open communication with students, families, and school staff.
- Maintain accurate and current records.
- Additional duties as assigned
Salary Range : 47.61 per hour
Resources Used in Performing Job Include (but are not limited to) :
Standard office equipment and software platforms such as Microsoft Office and the Google Suite. Standard classroom supplies and equipment.
Physical / Cognitive Requirements :
Regularly required to stand and move throughout a room and / or facility. Communicate verbally and electronically. Uses hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and / or crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, and drive. May have occasion to perform heavy lifting up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Conditions :
Work is performed in a school setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people.
