Job Description / Essential Elements :
JOB DESCRIPTION The Special Day Class Teacher (SDC) provides direct instruction and coordinates services for identified exceptional students assigned to the Resource Specialist Program.
Reports to : School Principal
Supervises : Special Education Aide
TYPES of DUTIES
- 1. Provides instruction, in an appropriate setting, to students assigned to the special day program;
- 2. Coordinates the instructional programs provided SDC students with classroom teachers and when appropriate, other resource staff;
- 3. Participates in the development and evaluation of IEP goals for SDC students;
4. Participates in IEP meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
4. Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate instructional methodologies in a Special Day Class program.
Desirable
2. Good communications skills.
