Authorizations - Surgery Scheduler Coordinator

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Authorizations - Surgery Scheduler to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating authorizations, surgical appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling, and providing exceptional patient service. This role requires a strong understanding of authorizations and surgery scheduling process.

Duties

• Tackle authorizations and assist with schedule surgical procedures in accordance with physician availability and patient needs.
• Review documentation to ensure all necessary information is collected prior to scheduling.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their surgery details, including pre-operative instructions and insurance verification.
• Maintain accurate records of scheduled surgeries and patient interactions within the system.
• Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate smooth operations within the surgical department.
• Handle patient inquiries and provide support throughout the scheduling process.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures related to surgery scheduling.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in health terminology and medical collection processes is preferred.
• Experience working in a hospital or orthopedic office setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with health information management systems, particularly EPIC is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to provide outstanding patient service with a compassionate approach.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.16 - $24.07 per hour
