Duties
- Tackle authorizations and assist with schedule surgical procedures in accordance with physician availability and patient needs.
- Review documentation to ensure all necessary information is collected prior to scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their surgery details, including pre-operative instructions and insurance verification.
- Maintain accurate records of scheduled surgeries and patient interactions within the system.
- Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate smooth operations within the surgical department.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide support throughout the scheduling process.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures related to surgery scheduling.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in health terminology and medical collection processes is preferred.
- Experience working in a hospital or orthopedic office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with health information management systems, particularly EPIC is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to provide outstanding patient service with a compassionate approach.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Other duties as assigned.
