What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUD Counselor position at Santa Rosa Treatment Program?
Santa Rosa Treatment Program, one of the leading outpatient programs for treating Opiate Use Disorder, is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to join our team. Job duties include:
- Intake for all new clients admitting into the program, including assessment of current use and appropriateness for the program, review of substance abuse history, creation of individualized treatment plans and education on program policies and procedures.
- Providing referrals to community agencies and support groups
- Maintaining charts in accordance with the California Department of Health standards, as well as other city, county, federal, and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities standards
- Attending weekly required staff trainings
Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a Counselor Certification as defined by the California Code of Regulations, chapter 8: Certification of Alcohol & Other Drug Counselors with an AOD counseling agency in California prior to starting work.
- A minimum of one year paid experience as a counselor in alcohol and drug treatment programs.
- Solid computer skills, including email and MS Office.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.

This is a full-time position from 5:45 AM TO 2:15 PM Monday through Friday. Benefits include PTO, paid holidays, health insurance options with employer contribrution plus fully paid vision and dental coverage. Pay is $25-26 an hour, depending on both certification and years of experience.
