The Senior Associate, Portfolio Management & Analytics
- Leverages their subject matter expertise in second line defense to ensure a holistic monitoring of the Commercial Portfolios their responsibilities, analyzing trends, identifying root causes, and proposing mitigating actions.
- Leads risk projects and/or programs oriented to enhance monitoring processes and practices, ensuring compliance with Heighted Standards regulatory requirements.
- Works in a rapid and very dynamic environment, coordinating with multiple partners across the organization to have a comprehensive and holistic view of all risks impacting their portfolios.
- Portfolio Management (Macro View). Portfolio Monitoring, Reporting, and Analytics.
- Focus on Commercial portfolio, including Commercial Real Estate and Commercial and Industrial.
- Monitors activities to minimize the company's exposure to risk. Activities may include quantitative analysis, risk identification and remediation.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Commercial Risk rating Model Oversight, Reserves and Forward-Looking Analytics.
- Commercial Management Limits and portfolio analytics.
- Represents or supports the reputation of the company to minimize compliance and regulatory risk by resolving issues and ensuring adherence to company and legal standards.
- Ensuring that all of the company's activities adhere to the necessary rules and regulations, and that the company complies with legal/regulatory statutes and jurisdictions.
- Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company.
- Manages policy, standard definition and monitoring of policy, standard implementation, ensuring harmonization and consistency of risk policies.
- Monitors and manages risk/exposure and compliance with the company's policies. Identifies, manages, and reports on the company's risk areas.
- Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of data, document retention, and monitors systems.
- Analysis of trends, issues, concerns within Commercial Banking portfolios (such as delinquency, NPL, charge offs, rating migration, provisioning, industry related concerns / concentrations, among others), challenging and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Monthly and quarterly updates of Commercial portfolios.
- Familiar with main risk and metrics impacting Commercial Portfolios, including Commercial & Industrial and Commercial Real Estate portfolios.
- Leads special risk mitigation projects and/or programs, business continuity and other incident response and security related activities.
- Builds positive relationships with executives, managers, and teams, while developing an understanding of the business and strategic initiatives.
- Initiates change, integration, operationalization of new events.
- Identifies enterprise trends, synergies, and opportunities for change.
- Serves as a liaison between first and third lines of defense.
- Enhances governance processes in support of infrastructure builds and oversee strategic compliance / business solutions.
- Maintains a strong rapport with local risk teams to create a strong risk culture of performance and accountability.
- Leverages subject matter expertise in second line to significantly improve existing processes and practices.
- Oversees and ensures consistent quality control, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements for reporting processes.
- Influences others at an operational level regarding new concepts, best practices and approaches related to risk mitigation, risk identification and resolution, and/or risk management.
- Represents organization as a primary contact for specific risk management projects and initiatives.
- Systematizes ad hoc reporting for line of businesses and team members to facilitate miscellaneous senior and executive management reporting and status updates as needed.
- Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to junior level professionals.

Education
- Required - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Accounting, Business, Statistics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field.
- Preferred - Master's Degree Accounting, Business, Statistics, Risk Management, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field.
Skills And Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of credit risk processes and portfolio analytics.
- Strong analytics skills, including proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools.
- Python and SQL experience a plus
- Advanced knowledge in regulatory reporting and compliances.
- Expertise in delivering high quality work products, reflecting attention to detail and analytical prowess.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with senior leaders across departments.
- Superior project management skills.
- Ability to analyze risk and design efficient control practices to minimize risk.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts, including global business and regulatory matters.
- Ability to lead, influence and direct peers, subordinates, and management.
- Ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances.
- Self-directed, initiative-taking and demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding.
