Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing high-quality infusion therapy to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the treatment process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with experience in various care settings, including senior care, acute care, and urgent care.
Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous (IV) infusions and monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications.
- Maintain aseptic technique while preparing and administering medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records, preferably using Cerner.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion therapy, potential side effects, and aftercare.
- Provide support to patients in memory care and those requiring specialized attention during treatment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care standards.
Skills
- Proficient in IV infusion techniques and aseptic practices.
- Experience in senior care, acute care, urgent care, or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to assess patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in health status.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Cerner.
- Compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on comfort and emotional support.
- Knowledge of dialysis procedures is a plus.
