Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IV infusion therapy and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. This role involves administering medications and treatments through intravenous methods, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Administer IV infusions and medications as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor patients during infusion therapy for any adverse reactions or complications.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records, including using Athenahealth software.
- Collect and process specimens as needed for laboratory testing.
- Educate patients and their families about infusion therapies, medication management, and home care instructions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide support in assisted living environments, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.
- Maintain equipment and supplies related to infusion therapy, including Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Proven experience in IV infusion therapy; familiarity with sonography is a plus.
- Knowledge of specimen collection processing techniques.
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably with infant care experience.
- Ability to assess patient needs effectively and provide compassionate care.
- Strong communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and procedures related to infusion therapy.
