Job Description: Early Head Start Teacher Assistant
The Early Head Start Teacher Assistant assists the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and operations. Working alongside children and families throughout the school year, they foster growth and development in early childhood settings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Lead Teacher with child screenings, evaluations, referrals, and follow-ups
- Effectively communicating with the Lead Teacher and program managers for consistency in program services
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid Child Development Associate (CDA) in Infant/Toddler or the New Mexico Early Childhood Certification, or an Associates of Arts (AA) Degree in Early Childhood
- One to two years' experience working with children birth through 5 years of age
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A valid driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblo's liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance
- May need to be available evenings, weekends, or holidays
