Job Description:
The Lead Teacher works in the classroom throughout the school year with children and families, providing a learning environment that promotes the growth and development of typical and atypical developing children in early childhood settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement weekly lesson plans
- Encourage parent volunteerism in the classroom
- Conduct child screenings, evaluations, and referrals, and follow up as needed
- Maintain open communication with other teachers for consistency in program services
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or related field preferred; Associate Degree in Childhood Development with five years' work experience in a preschool setting acceptable
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with ability to meet Pueblo of Santo Domingo liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility to drive tribal or personal vehicles in the performance of job duties
- Must be fluent in English, with Keres language speaker skills a plus
- Ability to exercise care and compassion in decision making and maintain objectivity
- Satisfactory passing of a criminal background check and drug screening, with a physical exam within 30 days of hire
