Sapphire Nursing and Rehab at Goshen, a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Orange County, New York is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to join its team of outstanding professionals. The Housekeeping Supervisor will assist the Director of Housekeeping in the planning, organization and directing overall operations of the Housekeeping Department to ensure our facility has a clean, safe working environment in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and highest standards cleanliness and hygiene.
- Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Housekeeping Department.
- Must be able to make daily rounds to assure the housekeeping staff are performing required daily duties.
- Maintain the care of use of supplies and equipment, maintain facility appearance, and must perform regular inspections of patient rooms for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
- Ensure equipment is returned to appropriate locations in proper working condition and ready for the next use.
- Inventory stock and ensure adequate supplies/equipment for staff.
- Identify additional cleaning needs and adjust schedule to meet those needs.
- Make daily rounds to assure that housekeeping staff are performing required duties and routinely inspect facility for cleanliness and safety (i.e., storage rooms, closets, resident’s rooms).
- Effectively manage and operate within budget.
- Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the long-term care facility.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be able to perform duties as a Housekeeping Assistant as needed. This a working position that will sometimes require the Supervisor to cover the duties of absent Housekeeping Assistants for open shifts.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients.
- Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
- Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgement.
- Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients.
Experience and Work Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience in a health care setting.
- Must have training in environmental control practices and procedures
- Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must perform proficiently working relationships with all associates vendors, etc.
- Must be able to recruit, select, hire, evaluate, train, counsel and supervise housekeeping staff
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information;
- Must understand and follow company polices including harassment and compliance procedures.
