Sapphos Environmental, Inc. is seeking a full-time QSP / QSD Specialist to join our environmental assessment team in the procurement of CEQA / NEPA compliance documentation and planning for various ongoing clients’ projects.
The right candidate will demonstrate an ability to produce highly technical, legally supported, storm water compliance guidance documentation, conduct training related to construction storm water management, and perform site inspections for assessing compliance with storm water regulations, among advising on Proponent’s Environmental Assessments (PEAs) and other reports of similar nature.

Responsibilities
- Preparation of Wastewater permits, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), NPDES Permitting.
- Write technically and procedurally adequate, legally defensible, organized, accurate, and grammatically correct technical documents.
- Accurately and consistently report on project work.
- Achieve or exceed chargeable goals or meet directly with the Resources Manager to set corrective course of action.
- Identify appropriate resources in preparing technical documents (including primary and secondary sources; books; articles, public records;
- planning and environmental documents; personal communications; internet) and utilize appropriate outside experts when indicated;
documenting coordination efforts in Contact Report Forms (CRFs); evaluate sources and check for accuracy.
- As required by the project scope, make competent, accurate, well-prepared, and illustrated public presentations and participate in project-related public meetings (scoping, public review, and certification).
- Work proactively with other teams and individuals at Sapphos to provide timely and efficient work product.
- Maintain certifications and qualifications within specialty area and stay current on updates to available certifications and trainings.
Requirements
- Degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology or closely related field.
- Active QSP and QSD required. QISP desirable.
- Prior experience with CEQA / NEPA.
- Solid track in the production of environmental compliance reports, performance of complex analysis, and participation in advisory roles.
- Travel to assessment sites at least twice per week.
- Work effectively under minimal supervision.
- Capacity to excel in a teamwork-driven environment.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills to deliver results in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates solid written and verbal communication skills.
