Overview:
This role manages the block production plan for both special making and make-to-stock orders across paper making resources at a SNA manufacturing site. This role equates to the master scheduler for products on a given paper machine or through the required papermaking process route.
Responsibilities:
Master Production Scheduling
Optimizing our machine resources through design and implementation of a Master Production Scheduling (MPS) process, managing supply orders through the planned, fixed, and frozen for release process steps.
Management of scheduling/production bottlenecks by maintaining PM blocks for web and sheet products
Steering manufacturing requests to most cost-effective (manufacturing and distribution) resources and to most cost-effective time slots.
Minimize "lost orders" and control order feasibility (meet the required delivery-time and volume)
Ensuring synchronization of APO and MICS to support Available To Promise (ATP) Process
Securing scheduled capacity to achieve inventory service targets.
Block creation and monitoring from forecast to mill transition with appropriate product mix, profitability, and maintaining mill direct program commitments.
Provide analysis and reporting for Mill Operations Planning, including any metrics, KPIs, and identification of improvement initiatives.
Order Status Monitoring and Communication
Regular communication with all members of Inside Sales, Sales Operations, Mill Planning, Distribution, and Operations Planning to monitor backlogs and order status as appropriate.
Inventory Support
Working with Inventory Planners and Supply Chain leadership to identify, design and implement more efficient and effective inventory service for stock items the Operations Planner supports.
Operations Planning Process Improvements
Participate in and lead Mill and Operations Planning process improvements.
Provide and participate in department cross-training.
Participate in specific customer action team efforts
Support and participate in corporate Lean Six Sigma improvement efforts
Education/Experience
- 1 to 3 years of production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in Supply Chain is a plus
