What are the responsibilities and job description for the Linux Systems Engineer - Quant Trading - $150,000-250,000 Salary + 100% or higher Bonuses position at Saragossa?
Low-level Linux, huge scale platforms and lots of open-source software. Problem solving and latency optimisation of the highest complexity.
This is what quant trading and high frequency trading is all about. We know this kind of challenge isn’t for everyone, but if you’re ready for a new challenge in quant trading, or you’ve hit a ceiling on where you can get to within big tech, you’ve come to the right place.
There’s more to finance than just making money. Of course, that’s the primary goal, to beat competitors and generate more revenue for the business, but you will have the opportunity to push the boundaries of technical research, work closely with some of the best engineers and researchers in the world and work on some of the most cutting-edge projects on offer within technology right now. Your career and future skills will be invested in and you will see the impact of your work each day.
You’ll be joining a team that’s responsible for all the technical infrastructure within the business. You’ll work on the lowest level of Linux engineering, optimizing systems to work at the lowest latency. These systems connect to financial exchanges across the world, and you’ll be setting up and building the massive computing clusters that are used internally for quant research. Think of the power that Google needs to run their research, this is comfortably on a similar scale, if not even bigger.
Experience-wise, you could have 2 years or 20 years’ experience, it really doesn’t matter if you’re keen to push the boundaries of your knowledge and be open to using new technologies. You will need extensive experience in managing Linux systems at all levels, at a large scale. You’ll likely need to be a strong contributor to the open-source community and your Python and Bash skills will be almost at software engineering levels. Any exposure to C and other programming languages would be a huge plus.
Starting salary will be in the range of $150,000-250,000 but this isn’t set in stone. Bonuses can be as much as, or higher than 100% of your salary depending on performance. If you need higher compensation and you’re keen to work in quant trading, let’s talk.
On top of monetary compensation, you’ll have free food and snacks every single day, access to the on-site gym, healthcare, world-class office environment, various training schemes and various wellness programmes, team events and much more. You’ll be taken care of in everything you do.
