What are the responsibilities and job description for the Platform Engineer - Quantitative Trading - up to $850k total compensation position at Saragossa?
Scalable, performant systems where automation is at the heart of everything. No red tape, no bureaucracy and none of the stereotypes that come with some financial companies.
You’re going to join one of the many small platform teams, focused on working closely with research and software engineering to get their ideas through to production and making money for the business. There are various projects and products that the platform teams contribute to, but each of the teams are focused on making the best possible products. It’s all about making them the best they can be.
So, you’ll partner with some of the best engineers in the world to design and implement the systems, building automation from scratch and focusing on scale and performance of these systems. You’ll collaborate extremely closely with all the user teams and get a complete understanding of what your colleagues need from you. The feedback loop is short to allow plenty of time for creative ideas to flourish.
The great thing is that the platforms are very stable. That doesn’t mean that they don’t break from time to time and because of the requirement to keep things running, everyone contributes towards the support of them. Another great thing is that as much as possible is solved through automation, so you’ll always be encouraged to spend as much time as possible making light work of these jobs by automating.
This means you’re going to need to be an expert in Python, with strong Linux skills. A lot of platforms are hosted in AWS but as long as you have strong skills in public cloud, you’re fine. Python, Linux, and Cloud are essential skills.
It would be great if you’ve had plenty of exposure to K8s, Terraform, CI/CD and monitoring. If you’re an expert in any of these areas, that’s even better. The key is you’re a well-rounded, creative Platform Engineer.
The very high retention rates here prove why it’s a great place to work. You’ve got great investment in tech, great people, great compensation, and great benefits. Starting salary will be in the range of $200-250,000 plus bonuses that could take you up to $850,000k total compensation. The benefits package is comprehensive and there’s far to much to explain here, however, various insurance coverage, wellness programs, 401k match, and various other perks such as free food and snacks are a few things to mention.
