The Aquatics Activities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aquatic-related activities and ensuring a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for campers. This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing pool activities and adhering to safety standards. The Aquatics Activities Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for campers while promoting swimming proficiency and water safety. This role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of aquatics programs, and a commitment to ensuring a positive camp experience for all participants.
Responsibilities:
1. Aquatic Program Development:
- Develop a comprehensive aquatic program that aligns with camp goals and camper age groups.
- Plan and organize swimming lessons, water games, and other aquatics activities.
2. Safety Protocols:
- Establish and enforce safety protocols, including lifeguard rotations, emergency procedures, and pool regulations.
3. Swimming Lesson Coordination:
- Organize and coordinate 15-20 minute swim lessons during daily pool rotation based on camper skill levels.
- Assess and track camper progress in swimming proficiency.
4. Staff Communication:
- Communicate with directors about swim lesson schedules, progress reports, and any pool-related updates.
5. Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of camper swimming abilities, attendance, and any incidents related to aquatics activities.
- Submit necessary reports to camp leadership as required.
6. Water Games and Activities:
- Plan and organize water games and activities that are safe and suitable for various age groups.
- Ensure activities promote skill development and a positive aquatics experience.
7. Integration with Camp Activities:
- Collaborate with other camp coordinators to integrate aquatics activities with the overall camp program.
- Plan and coordinate swim sessions within the camp schedule
