As a Construction Project Manager, you will work under the general direction of the Construction Manager and be responsible for all aspects of the project and oversight of assigned construction contracts. The projects assigned vary in complexity working in Utilities CIP.Apply today and be part of a team shaping the future of Sarasota County’s infrastructure!About This roleGeneral Responsibilities include: Manage and lead capital and operational type projects within the Utility Construction group.Directly responsible for the oversight of multiple construction contracts and projects at any given time. Respond as a County representative throughout construction, in regards to issues and is responsible for implementing County direction through contractual procedures.Manage construction contracts to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations and ensuring design and construction standards are adhered to. Develop and maintain project cost estimates and monitors CIP project expenditures. Prepare progress reports. Initiate, authorize, and monitor requests for change of scope. Review and authorize progress payment requests. Review CPM schedules from contractors. Perform constructability reviews of plans and technical specifications, provides analysis of TMs and PDRs in accordance with Utility Code. Prepare project related correspondence and utilizes eBuilder for document repository. Update monthly schedules of assigned projects and provides management team with project status, information and presentations. Resolve customer complaints and contract disputes. Coordinate with other agencies for permitting and project certifications as needed. Provide owner-department with turnover package at completion of projects. Partner with Procurement to prepare solicitations for Professional Services: reviews proposals, prepares and presents selection matrix to PSRC: facilitates discussions of contract scope, budget, and schedule with selected consultant for services during construction.Ensure contracts include all necessary work scope to complete construction of project: Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. About YouTo thrive in this role, you must have: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field AND three (3) years of related CIP experience.-OR- Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field AND two (2) years of related CIP experience.-OR- Project experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.A valid Florida driver’s license at the time of hire.
