In this role, you are responsible for directing and coordinating a team of service providers for construction projects. Manage various construction projects with Sarasota County (initiate, plan, execute, administration and control, close).
Ensure projects are managed to Time, Cost, and Scope.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, internal staff, and owner to ensure appropriate construction documents are prepared and compliant with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, building codes, and Sarasota County Requirements.
Interacts with customers and consultants to address questions, relieve concerns, and resolve complaints.
Prepare technical bid documents, schedules, and correspondence for construction projects.
Review all purchasing activities including the submittal of purchase requisitions.
Manage the alignment of contracted services ensuring the fulfillment of contractual project requirements.
Negotiates contract scope, budget, and schedule with selected consultants.
Conducts daily on-site facility inspections to assess construction progress and needs.
Ensure job site safety and environmental compliance.
Supervise and manage all contract requirements, including applications for payments, schedules, budgets, construction documents, project submittals, drawings, and reports.
Ensure all punch-list items are complete, lien waivers and a certificate of occupancy have been obtained.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects (plans, schedules, status reports, etc) and use this information to track and report projects.
Prepare and present routine reports and updates on project progress, budget, and any issues or delays.
Work Hours : Monday - Friday, 7 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 00 p.m.
About You
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Project Management, or a related field and t hree (3) years of related professional experience .
- OR- Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of required experience.
- OR- Project experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.
Valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications :
PMP certification.
Formal training and experience with Project Management Institute and Project Management tools.
Proficiency in project management software such as; eBuilder, Trimble, or similar construction workflow management, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, and / or similar tools for creating, editing, marking up, collaborating, and sharing pdf software.

Starting Pay Range : $61,131.20 - $68,000.00 / annually, based on experience.
