Job Summary
Facilitates the set up and completion of annual budgets and forecasts for the entire Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS). Serves as System Administrator and functional expert on Strata budgeting software. Participates in department and divisional projects that contribute to the organization's strategic goals and initiatives. Partners with Reimbursement, BIA, Corporate Finance, Clinical Business Systems, operational leaders, and senior leadership to identify, investigate and resolve various data and reporting issues. Generates reasonableness review, hindsight, other analyses, and ad hoc reports for all Healthcare System units as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Require a bachelor's degree in accounting/business administration or finance related field.
- Require a minimum of five (5) years of accounting and/or computerized budgeting experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer demonstrated competency in accounting, budgeting, forecasting and analytical techniques.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, ability to take initiative, work independently or as a team member and work under pressure.
- Prefer advanced skills in Excel, including design and maintenance of complex spreadsheets incorporating advanced features such as linked fields, lookup tables, pivot tables and hyperlinks, as well as proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Prefer demonstrated working knowledge of general and cost accounting concepts, overhead allocation, and productivity measures in health care setting.
- Prefer experience with EPSI and/or Strata Jazz and PeopleSoft.
- Prefer ability to quickly learn and utilize new systems, exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, analytical and data extraction experience, complex problem-solving skills, ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information, and strong acumen for continuous process improvement.
- Prefer demonstrated proficiency in time management skills with the ability to prioritize a variety of duties.
- Prefer previous health care industry experience.
