Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
The Patient Care Technician is a key member of the CAC highly trained nursing team providing excellent patient care and exceptional customer service. Some PCT responsibilities include:
- Taking vitals
- Collecting blood sugars
- Documentation of activities
- Assist patients with toileting and hygiene
- Assist patient with meals
- Assist patients with ambulation at times
- Accurate account of intakes and outputs.
The patient care technician must be versatile and willing to play their part in a teamwork dynamic.
Patient Population
Patients with a primary cardiac diagnosis requiring complex nursing care including but not limited to:
- Continuous cardiac monitoring
- Acute cardiac arrythmias
- Acute chest pain
- Cardiac Medication and Cardiac Drips management
- Acute Myocardial Infarction
- Advanced groin management
- Post PFO Closure
- Pre/Post cardiac catheterization including stents and balloon angioplasty
- Post Micra pacemaker implantation
- Pre/Post Cardiac procedures including Pacemaker implantation, cardioversion, ablations, transesophageal echocardiograms
- TAVR Procedure
- Pre/post Interventional Radiology procedures with groin access
- Atrial fibrillation/flutter ablation
- Left atrial appendage closure device (Watchman, Amulet)

Required Qualifications
Require one of the following:
1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); Paramedic, or a military corpsman; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment; or
2.) Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN; and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN; or
3.) Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. **Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to 11/11/19, are grandfathered in and will have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Mandatory Education
HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate

BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
Day Shift: 7:00 am-7:30 pm
Full Time is 3 Days a week
Night Shift: 7:00 pm-7:30 am
