Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director, Laboratory Services provides technical expertise and acts as a resource for the entire laboratory in each specialty area and overall laboratory operations. Provides primary and initial oversight of the Laboratory Quality Management Plan in coordination with the Laboratory leadership team. Responsible for reviewing test results and functions as a specialist in laboratory quality management. Responsible for QC, training, updating quality control summaries, as well as, writing and revising policies and procedures. Collaborates with managers, supervisors, pathologists, nursing service and the laboratory director on laboratory quality issues regarding patient care, and regulatory requirements for the College of American Pathologists, Joint Commission and other accreditation agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Require a Bachelor's degree in a health science program or medical technology.
- Require a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a specialty area of the clinical laboratory.
- Require qualification as an ASCP, AMT, NCA, or an equivalent medical technologist.
- Require current technologist license.
