Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, an 839-bed regional medical center, is the among the largest acute care public health systems in Florida. A community hospital founded in 1925, Sarasota Memorial is governed by the nine-member elected Sarasota County Public Hospital Board. It is a full-service health system, with specialized expertise in heart, vascular, cancer, and neuroscience services, as well as a network of outpatient centers, long-term care, and rehabilitation among its many programs. Sarasota Memorial is the only provider of Level II trauma services, obstetrical services and Level III neonatal intensive care in Sarasota County.
Sarasota Memorial Health Care System has developed a comprehensive cancer program. The Cancer Institute will be built in three phases, which will include a Radiation Oncology Center, which opened in 2020, an Oncology Tower, which opened in 2022, and an Outpatient Cancer Pavilion, opening in December of 2026.When complete, the Cancer Institute will provide the full spectrum of cancer services with state-of-the-art technology, all centered around the cancer patient. *The Medical Dosimetrist is responsible for designing a treatment plan and accurately calculating the delivery of radiation treatment based on the Radiation Oncologist’s prescribed course of radiation therapy and according to established practices and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Require successful completion of an accredited two- (2-) year Medical Dosimetry program with training in the usage of Varian Medical Systems software and equipment, specifically Eclipse, or a minimum of three (3) years of radiation oncology clinical experience as a dosimetrist with experience utilizing Varian Medical Systems software and equipment, specifically Eclipse.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer experience in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS and SBRT) and high dose rate brachytherapy.
- Prefer proficiency in image registration with various image sets to include CT, MRI and PET.
