What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Tech Distribution Spc position at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System?
The Pharmacy Technician Distribution Specialist is responsible for drug distribution processes and services in the unit dose dispensing area of pharmacy. Responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement of processes related to drug distribution. This includes responsibility for inventory management systems, including inventory management software used to track medications in the pharmacy and automated point-of-service unit dose dispensing cabinets (ADCs) throughout the organization. Responsible for ensuring staff competence in areas of oversight including training, education, monitoring, compliance, competency assessment and feedback. Pharmacy technicians work under the direct supervision of registered pharmacists. Pharmacy technicians do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Florida registered pharmacy technicians are governed by Section 465.014, Florida Statutes, and Rule 64B16-26.103, 64B16-26.350, 64B16-26.351, 64B16-27.410, 64B16-27.420 and, Florida Administrative Code.
Required Qualifications:
- Require active Registered Pharmacy Technician license in the State of Florida.
- Require the ability to pass (score 65% or higher) pre-employment skills assessment. Hires prior to 1/1/2008 are exempt from this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer supervisory experience managing pharmacy technicians.
- Prefer experience with pharmacy automated point-of-service unit dose dispensing cabinets.
- Prefer experience with pharmacy inventory management software.
- Prefer excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
