Summary of Position:
This position reports to the Director of Finance in Fiscal Services. The position ensures the use of decision support/business intelligence applications enhances business decision-making capabilities. The position creates, interprets, and presents reports that provide clinical, operational, and financial analyses to enhance organizational decision-making. Uses a broad set of business intelligence tools and data sources to develop complex analysis as well as scorecard and dashboard development. Collaborates with senior management, business process owners, technical staff, and project managers to leverage the use of data and data strategy across a full spectrum of the organization. Works with project teams on an as-needed basis.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Budget Development and Analysis: Decision Support utilizing budget, forecasting, cost accounting, Data Modeler, Microsoft Office to deliver timely and accurate information supportive to the decision-making processes and process improvement. Assists in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets, including operating expenses, gross and net patient service revenue and utilization statistics.
- Software and Database Management: Assists with administering and maintaining all aspects of the decision support software, including dictionary maintenance, reconciliation of data, and overall system maintenance.
- Program Design and Development: Ability to, plan, implement, assess and troubleshoot database systems. Design custom business intelligence solutions for organizational initiatives
- Analytics and Reporting: Analytics: Responsible for Analytics Development and reporting. Develop ad-hoc reports to provide critical cross-functional information to support decision-making and strategy formulation. Develop scorecards and dashboards where appropriate.
- Analysis: Leverage data extraction and statistical analysis to provide historic, current, and predictive trends in key performance indicators. Analyzes organizational needs regarding the use of integrated data processing systems, operations, and processes, especially as it relates to reporting and analysis. Spot trends and anomalies in the data
- Project Management: Lead or, participate in, analytically based projects. Support initiatives for data normalization and data integrity across the organization.
- Customer Service: Serves as a departmental IT liaison and resource to Fiscal and other departments. Assists departments in trouble shooting reporting needs. Provides training as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree and experience with EPIC EHR software are required. Competitive applicants should have at least 7 years experience in a Decision Support/Business Intelligence function.
Required Skills, Abilities, and Attributes:
- Experience in EPIC EHR software.
- Demonstrated level of proficiency in all Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
- Ability to organize and establish day-to-day priorities while utilizing critical thinking skills in all aspects of the job.
- Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment and/or systems.

- Knowledge of Meditech Data Repository and Data Table Structure.
- Knowledge of SQL Server and basic Transact-SQL.
- Proficient with business intelligence (Diver/Cognos) and data-mining tools (Data Modeler).
- Proficient in working with large data sets.
- Strong organizational skills.

- Ability to work as part of a team and the ability to work independently; to provide DSS Solutions; build databases and analysis reporting tools.
Salary Range: $34.11 - $60.09
Pay Grade L10
Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
