Pay Range: $25.62/hour- $30.59/hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Proficient in setting of priorities for the accomplishment of daily/weekly property and equipment work orders and projects, while adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs routine maintenance requests throughout YMCA facilities on fitness equipment, as requested.
- Performs routine maintenance in the facilities assigned, in areas such as carpentry, electrical, flooring, HVAC, painting, plaster/sheetrock, and plumbing.
- Uses all maintenance and repair supplies in the proper and efficient manner, and keeps all storage closets clean and uncluttered. Reports any damage or needed repairs to equipment.
- Maintains records, as required.
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Clean and sanitize assigned areas, according to established procedures and standards, as needed.
- Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, completes related reports as required.
- Assist in snow removal or lawn grooming when necessary.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of the YMCA and our three areas of focus: youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
- Ability to articulate and model the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
- Attends all staff meetings and in-service training.
- Wear required and approved uniform items at all time.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- 5-10 years’ experience in electrical component functionality and ability to read electrical schematics along with prior experience in maintenance & repair.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and carpentry.
- Working knowledge of OSHA guidelines.
- Current CPR PRO & First Aid certifications preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.

- Ability to remain standing and moving for extended periods of time.
- Indoors and outdoors in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes.

- Ability to push, pull and lift up to 100 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
- May handle human body fluids and chemicals as part of the daily operational duties.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
