Saratoga-Schenectady Gastroenterology Associates is seeking a Staff Accountant and Benefits Coordinator to support the accounting functions and coordination of benefits. We are looking for a highly motivated, friendly, professional and flexible individual who enjoys a challenge and is committed to maximizing the efficiencies of the organization.
This is a full time Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm position.
Your position will include but is not limited to:
Accounting
- Responsible for all aspects of A/P, reconciliation of purchase orders, invoices and statements. Ensuring proper documentation of approvals
- Recording and scanning invoices, processing checks, logging in cash receipts on a daily and weekly basis
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger accounts
- Preparation of financial statements and annual budgets
- Perform various analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
- Assist in the coordination of audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of financial operations
- Process quarterly returns such as sales tax, corporation tax, and PTET tax returns and payments
- Perform banking transactions
- Handle vendor inquiries
- Create Excel spreadsheets
- Post payroll transactions

- Assists Administrator of Pension with compliance maintenance, projections, and distributions/loan requests
- Works with Benefits Administrator to ensure timely processing of benefits
Requirements
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Accounting required
- 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (particularly with formulas), accounting and payroll software
- Excellent Computer skills is a must
