We hold leadership positions in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and limb-girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMDs), and we currently have more than 40 programs in various stages of development in gene therapy, RNA and gene editing. In 2023, we launched our fourth therapy and the first ever gene therapy to treat Duchenne.

The Importance of the Role
 

This individual will fulfil the requirements needed to support research studies, sample testing, assay development and optimization. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for laboratory maintenance to support day-to-day operations. This person will learn basic laboratory skills while sharpening their communication skills and collaborative approaches to advance science and operations. This person will receive the rare opportunity to rotate between three different departments to gain experience in Translational Biology, Nonclinical Research Sciences and Research Operations. The responsibilities and opportunities assigned under this internship may extend into a separate program.

• Study preparation

• Sample collection

• Data collection and analysis

• Assay development and optimization

• Early-stage cell culture research

• Drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Drafting presentations and presenting

• Literature searches

• Sample Management and Inventory

• Chemical and reagent maintenance and inventory

• Laboratory restocking

• Equipment maintenance and vendor engagement

• Laboratory software configurations to support data collection

• Performs additional related job duties as required

More about You

• Undergraduate (junior or senior) pursuing a degree in Life Sciences with a strong interest in the Biotech industry

• Prior lab experience preferred

• Ability to strictly adhere to laboratory SOPs is required

• Good Laboratory and Documentation Practices (GLP and GDP) are required- training available

• Ability to handle a multi-task workload is required

• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail are required

• Experience using Microsoft Office is required

Program Timeline:

This application is for a 12-week summer internship program that will start on June 23rd and conclude on September 12th, 2025.

This position requires work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States.

The targeted salary range for this position is $21 - $25 per hour depending upon years of education completed and nature of role.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
