The Importance of the Role

This role is crucial in supporting all aspects of work related to the cell line development group within the Analytical Development Department at Sarepta. The candidate will interface with R&D, Tech Ops, QCTS, or QC for cell bank related activities or discussions. The ideal candidate will also support MCB/WCB management activities and actively interact with CRO/CDMO. This role is critical for the success of potency analytical strategies and will significantly impact such assays.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

  • Hands-on work conducting research cell bank generation and research cell bank release testing
  • Managing the logistics and inventory of these research cell banks internally
  • Preparing reagents, and cell culture media for routine cell culture. Conducting cell growth studies and cell growth media studies
  • Assisting cell line engineering and development of novel cell lines for analytical assays, particularly potency assays
  • Assisting in managing laboratory supplies related to cell culture and experiments and taking initiative to organize laboratory space.
  • Authoring and reviewing SOP drafts.
  • Supporting MCB/WCB generation and related logistics or documentation alongside other scientists in the group.

More about You

  • BS/MS degree with 5 years of hands-on laboratory work experience is required.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture is required, especially adherent cell culture in the pharmaceutical or CRO/CDMO industries.
  • Experience with good documentation practices is a must
  • Familiarity with routine bench scale cell culture and cell banking procedures is a must.
  • Experience with cell culture-related media studies or cell growth studies is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in various gene editing techniques is highly desired.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges in developing new cell lines for potency assays or mechanism of action studies under the guidance of group scientists.
  • Previous experience with both adherent and suspension iPSC culture studies is welcomed.
  • Experience in developing analytical assays is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICH guidelines for analytical assay development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GxP regulations related to cell banks is a plus.
  • Attention to details, open-minded fast learner willing to learn from everyone in the group and explore new challenges.

This position requires work on site at one of Sarepta's facilities in the United States.

The targeted salary range for this position is $92,000 - $115,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta's compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
