Job Description: Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. is seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Events Coordinator. As the Events Coordinator, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and executing our fundraising events. You will have the opportunity to contribute your event planning skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need.

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and coordinate events for the organization, including but not limited to galas, adoption fairs, benefit events, and community outreach days.

Collaborate with team members and sponsors to develop event concepts, themes, and goals that align with the organization's mission and values.

Keep team members updated with pertinent event details and capacity needs.

Create event budgets, track expenses, and seek sponsorships or donations to ensure events are cost-effective and profitable.

Assist in creating and maintaining a sponsorship packet for corporate donors.

Secure venues, permits, and necessary equipment for events, and ensure all logistical requirements are met.

Coordinate event promotion and marketing efforts, including social media campaigns, press releases, and community outreach to maximize event attendance and donor participation.

Work closely with the Volunteer and Foster Coordinator to identify the number and skill set required of volunteers for events.

Manage event volunteers, providing clear instructions and support to ensure a smooth event experience.

Learn and stay up-to-date on industry standards for animal handling and welfare, ensuring the safety of all animals and people at events.

Work closely with the Adoptions and Animal Care team to identify suitable animals to bring to events as appropriate.

Oversee event setup and take-down, including arranging decorations, signage, seating, etc.

Provide on-site event management and troubleshoot any issues or concerns that may arise during events.

Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event and identify areas for improvement.

Maintain accurate event records, including attendance figures, financial reports, and donor information, using appropriate software or tools.

Act as staff liaison to the Fundraising and Events Committee

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience of one or more years organizing events or similar work.

One year supervising staff, contractors, or volunteers is preferred.

Passion for animal welfare and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by animal rescue organizations.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, and volunteers.

Attention to detail and a keen eye for creativity and aesthetics when planning events.

Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and adapt to changing event circumstances.

Availability to work evenings or weekends as needed and attend most events.

Any animal handling experience is also a plus.

Must have a valid NC driver's license.

Schedule: Part-time; approximately 20-25 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours are required depending on the event.

Compensation: $14 - $17 dollars an hour, commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

Schedule:

  • Evenings as needed
  • Nights as needed
  • Weekends as needed
