Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Sargent & Greenleaf, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling metal products, such as combination and key locks, and ensuring high-quality packaging and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble metal products according to blueprints, routings, and bills of materials.
- Fasten parts together using bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
- Remove excess metal using hand files and scrapers to achieve a precise fit.
- Operate drill presses, presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operations.
- Wire and solder simple subassemblies.
- Conduct quality checks on various products to ensure they meet our high standards.
- Pack and label finished products, using heat sealers, label machines, and staple machines.
Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information to customers, clients, and colleagues.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Environment
The Assembly Technician will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to metal parts and chemicals. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and work at a bench or on a shop floor.
Salary
The salary for this position is $16.00 per hour.
