Food Safety/Quality
- Drive the plant food safety and quality programs.
- Ensure employee practices comply with regulatory and company quality policies.
- Ensure products conformance to specifications.
- Ensure equipment, buildings and contractors comply with company quality policies.
- Investigate and coordinate the correction of any deviation to food safety or quality programs.
- Drive the plant safety programs.
- Directs employee practices to ensure they comply with regulatory and company safety policies.
- Develop methods to ensure equipment and plant conditions comply with regulatory and company safety policies.
- Model, promote and support the Sargento Culture.
- Create an open two-way dialogue with all employees to promote morale and motivation of workforce.
- Encourage and promote career advancement opportunities with managers, supervisors and employees.
- Implement plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Interprets and enforces company disciplinary process in a consistent and fair manner in compliance with Sargento policies.
- Document individual employee conversations used in the coaching process.
- Complete employee evaluations that provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Develop succession plans for key positions in your department.
- Plan and prioritize plant operations in accordance with overall Corporate Strategic Agenda, policies and procedures.
- Organize and direct optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations.
- Demonstrate financial acumen through annual budget planning, meeting financial goals and ensuring production targets are met while allocating resources effectively to fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Develop functional knowledge of the equipment and processes as well as formulae and raw materials in area of control.
- Drive Continuous Improvement and Sustainability projects in all areas of facility operations.
- Communicate cross-functionally within the organization and lead cross functional teams utilizing good project management techniques.
- Use technical tools/systems required to support manufacturing (SAP, Corporate Documentum, MES, Maintenance Excellence, etc.)
- Drive use of training systems in plant.
- Lead or participate in agency audits, customer audits and customer tours.
- Stay current with industry practices by participating in professional organizations, technology shows, etc.
- Works a flexible schedule as needed to support plant operations.
Your Education And Experience.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required; Masters Degree in related field preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years related manufacturing experience required. Experience in the following areas highly preferred: SAP, MES, Personnel Safety, Food Safety and Employee Training in a Manufacturing Environment.
