Job Description
The Territory Sales Representative is a full-time position critical to enhancing Saro’s retail market presence. This role drives brand awareness, product representation, and sales across various channels. Managing existing accounts and strategically developing new ones will be central to this role, aligning with our company's growth objectives. This Representative must be comfortable working in both on-premise and off-premise accounts as well as attending events to continually raise the Midwest’s awareness of Saro Cider.
Daily Adventures and Responsibilities
- Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about our ciders and our process – answering questions and emphasizing features to highlight how they meet consumer needs.
- Account Interaction: Conduct daily engagements with existing and prospective accounts, showcasing excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate and close the sale effectively.
- Market Analysis: Use advanced analytical skills to monitor market trends and competitor activities to adapt strategies and highlight our brand’s strengths.
- Sales Strategy Implementation: Implement sales strategies diligently, ensuring our products are optimally displayed and promoted at various retail locations.
- Relationship Building: Use your excellent interpersonal skills to cultivate and maintain relationships with distributors and retail partners, ensuring they are well informed about our products and any new initiatives.
- Promotional Activities: Take the initiative to plan and execute innovative promotions and events that enhance product visibility and consumer engagement.
- Reporting: Regularly update our CRM system with detailed records of sales activities, client interactions, and market insights.
Some Responsibilities
- Attend a weekly team meeting, either in person or virtually, to collaborate with our team in various areas of our business including comprehensive reporting of sales activities and results as well as offering ideas for change as needed.
- Travel within the Midwest, spending most of the time in Lincoln and Omaha, but be able to make day trips throughout Nebraska and adjoining states.
- Actively and responsibly represent the company at community and special events to boost brand visibility.
- Set up opportunities for customers to sample our products.
- Work sampling opportunities and/or schedule staff to work these opportunities.
- Be able to work some evenings and weekends to staff events and sampling opportunities.
Requirements:
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including follow-up on leads and relationship building.
- Capable of frequent travel, including occasional overnight stays and long drive times.
- Able to lift items up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Participation in event setup and takedown, which may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, and stretching.
Desirable attributes:
- Bachelor's degree (in a relevant field preferred but not required).
- Proven sales experience (beverage or CPG is nice but not a requirement).
- A clean driving record and the ability to manage travel logistics independently.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage self independently and still mesh with a team.
- An appreciation for craft cider, craft beverages, or other relevant tasting experience that would help in selling cider.
- Familiarity with various software such as email programs, Word, Excel and CRMs.
