Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern to support our mission of creating a healthy and safe environment for our employees and community. This role will work directly with the EHS team and provide hands-on experience with all EHS aspects of defense technologies and boat building.This is an exciting opportunity to explore, support, and improve EHS programs in a start-up environment.
\n- Support EHS team initiatives and responsibilities including regulatory reports, inspections, or information requests; internal audits; emergency drills; management system improvements; and program development and assessments.
- Support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives for EHS.
- Develop EHS resources to providestakeholders guidance on regulatory requirements.
- Guide and assist business units in the achievement of their individual safety and environmental goals, objectives, and targets.
- Evaluate existing EHS programs and training materials for improvement opportunities.
- Perform research projects on EHS programs and draft programming requirements as applicable.
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Public Health, or related health, safety, environmental, and science degrees.
- Position may requirebeing outdoors, walking, and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Internship specialization in E, H, and S disciplines are not required but may be pursued if desired.
