SUMMARY
The Production and Inventory Planning Coordinator leads the production scheduling process and inventory management activities for the assigned processing lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Creates and maintains the daily production schedules for assigned production lines, cheesemake plants, and intermediate processes.
- Creates and maintains co-packer production schedules and any supporting component and cheese inventories when outsourcing of production is required.
- Maintains finished goods inventory levels to ensure order fulfillment and on-time delivery to customers within product shelf-life requirements.
- Monitors capacity of the production lines and works with the operations team to effectively schedule production while maximizing plant efficiency. Works to identify solutions to ensure we meet the customer’s needs.
- Monitors production issues and works with the operations team to determine if adjustments need to be made to schedules. Takes off hours calls as necessary in order to support this.
- Manages transfers of necessary raw materials, supplies and cheese from outside warehouses to ensure we attain production schedules.
- Manages work order dates and parts lists to effectively sequence the schedule and manage component substitutions.
- Evaluates and manages JDE product data related to planning activities for assigned processing line products.
- Evaluates and implements product data and planning strategy changes for items in order to improve inventory levels, production efficiency and customer service.
- Compiles monthly metrics and associated root cause investigations in an effort to improve service levels and operational costs.
- Monitors and communicates timing of bill of material and router updates needed to support product changes.
- Cross trains and supports other planning and forecasting functions as needed.
- Identifies and leads implementation of continuous improvement projects related to production scheduling and inventory processes.
- Creates and maintains work instructions for production scheduling and inventory processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma, required.
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience, required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- APIC’s CPIM certification, desirable.
- Advanced computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software.
