Planning and Inventory Control Supervisor

The Planning and Inventory Control Supervisor role is a leader within the operation team. Responsible for planning setup, distribution of planning reports, inventory management, and smooth launch of new product develop projects into operations. This role would also be responsible for updating and improving upon established processes and procedures for maximum efficiency by working collaboratively with the rest of the organization to achieve overall business objectives for his/her span of control.

Job Responsibilities

• Through your team, create and utilize consistent processes for responding to manufacturing planning signals, report generation, work order closing, and perpetual inventory management to achieve delivery, working capital, and inventory turn objectives.
• Through your team ensure intra/inter plant transfer orders with discrepancies are resolved quickly via the appropriate transactions.
• Drive the team to manage expedite and de-expedite orders of inventory based on cycle count results, by reviewing shortages reports, and other messages.
• Document, manage, and educate on standard operating procedures for your team’s roles and responsibilities.
• Understand, track, lead and drive actions to improve corporate defined KPI’s which include inventory accuracy, inventory cycle count metric, work order closing, etc.
• Fully support the New Product Development (NPD) process to ensure a smooth transition into production within the Kiel and Sheboygan facilities.
• Maintain JDE planning parameters (lead-times, ROP, ROQ, MOQ, Kanban systems, and accurate system dates) for multiply sites to ensure appropriate signals. 
• Lead/participate in and execute continual improvement/cost down projects.
• Manage changes related to engineering, process, quality, and/or suppliers to ensure inventory is dispositioned in a timely manner.
• In a timely manner and on a consistent basis provides candid feedback to employees regarding their performance, changes occurring with the organization, and upcoming activities.
• Participate in the hiring process to continue to build strong diverse teams.
• Other job tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Material Planner and Planning Specialist may report to this position.

Education & Experience

• Minimum of Associate degree in operation/supply chain/business or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in operation/supply chain/business or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Minimum of 2-4 years operation/supply chain.
• 5 years of experience in any planning/manufacturing environment preferred.

Working Conditions 

This role would require the ability to sit for extended periods of time and work on a PC. There would be times where the person would need to be able to walk out on a manufacturing floor and would need to wear appropriate personal protective equipment as well as navigate possible uneven surfaces.  Lifting/carrying of up to 35 pounds occasionally, bending, squatting, twisting rarely 

The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work). Very limited exposure to equipment, machinery Powered Industrial Vehicle traffic and some chemicals.
