Job Summary
We are seeking a Compensation Specialist to support and administer the organization's compensation programs, ensuring market competitiveness and compliance with applicable regulations. This role will be responsible for conducting job evaluations, market research, compensation planning, and compliance testing while collaborating with management to ensure fair and equitable pay practices. The Compensation Specialist will play a vital role in analyzing and managing compensation data to support decision-making and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform job evaluations and support job documentation, analysis, and grading programs.
- Conduct external market data analysis and internal equity reviews to determine salary grade recommendations.
- Ensure job descriptions remain accurate and up to date by conducting periodic reviews.
- Perform Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) testing to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Maintain and update the organization's bonus programs, including calculation of accruals and annual bonus payouts.
- Manage and analyze compensation-related data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy in reporting and decision-making.
- Prepare and distribute compensation scorecards for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of compensation disclosure statements and other regulatory reporting.
- Support the annual compensation planning process, including salary structures, merit budgets, and bonus program administration.
- Work with HR and Payroll teams to ensure performance appraisals and compensation adjustments are processed in a timely manner.
- Participate in management meetings to document recommendations for promotions, salary adjustments, and incentive plans.
- Administer management performance programs, including nomination submissions and goal-setting processes.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field required; HR certification preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in compensation administration, including spreadsheet design and data analysis.
- Experience working with variable compensation plans and complex metrics preferred.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and FLSA regulations required.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Microsoft Access preferred.
Special Requirements
- Must possess strong analytical skills and experience managing large datasets.
- Proficiency in compensation research tools and market data analysis is highly desirable.

Work Environment
- Hybrid work schedule (combination of in-office and remote work).
- Standard business hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with overtime as required.
