Public Relations Manager
Sasaki is a 300 person world-class planning and design firm with a dynamic start-up culture and a body of work that spans 70 years. Sasaki rebranded in 2016, overhauled its digital presence in 2020, recently opened new offices in Denver and New York, and moved into its new headquarters in downtown Boston in 2022. The Communications team continues to expand upon Sasaki’s dynamic brand to achieve a greater presence in markets around the world.
Sasaki seeks a highly motivated Public Relations Manager to join our award-winning Communications team. This position leads the firm’s PR efforts including development and execution of the editorial calendar, identifying and nurturing media relationships, creating and issuing press releases, writing and editing of communications content and leading a small and nimble internal team.
Specific responsibilities for the role include:
Identifying and developing relationships with editors/writers at target publications and media outlets
- Leading external PR campaigns
- Helping articulate overall priorities from leadership
- Proposing and actively pitching stories
- Overseeing media/press training for employees
- Developing internal PR workflow, best practices
- Overseeing the firm’s editorial calendar
- Helping prepare for and attending press interviews
- Contributing to press releases for key announcements and initiatives
- Writing and editing external Communications content
- Overseeing the internal project milestone calendar
- Overseeing inquiries from media
- Oversees the tracking and reviewing of press coverage
- Supporting strategic planning for Communications
- Supervising PR coordinator
- Coordinating with other members of the Communications team
Story - telling about design and enviornments
The ideal candidate brings 10 years of PR and Communications experience in the design/AEC field as well as a collaborative spirit, solid writing and editing chops, unquenchable curiosity, strong organizational skills, sound judgment, ability to synthesize and apply new information, and a proactive mindset.
A passion for and an ability to quickly grasp concepts within the design, architecture, landscape architecture and/or planning industries is a big plus. The candidate will frequently work directly with firm Principals and will collaborate on a daily basis across Sasaki’s Marketing and Communications staff.
