Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care to patients according to established procedures; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Qualifications: Medical Assistant certification. CPR certification. Prefer a minimum of one year clinical experience in a clinical setting.
Duties:
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards and other administrative duties as assigned
- Writes initial histories and assesses patients’ conditions
- Monitors, maintains and ensures accuracy of recording patient care documentation. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with clinic standards
- Maintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical treatment
- Observes emotional stability of patients and expresses interest in their progress
- Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy
- Arranges for patients’ ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops
- Attends meetings as required
- Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment
- Assists other members of the team and/or other disciplines
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objectives
- Orients, instructs and trains assigned personnel
- Demonstrates competency and professionalism in performing the overall patient care and responsibilities of the medical assistant position
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information
Working Conditions:
- Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
- Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances

- May have to handle emergency or crisis situation
