Job Summary : The Litigation Paralegal will provide litigation support in addition to coordinating all aspects of document production, organizing and indexing documents, preparing witness files and exhibits, and assisting during depositions and trials. Will work closely with the attorneys and support staff to facilitate a seamless flow of information among the litigation team.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Meets with attorneys to discuss assigned cases or projects.
Obtains and indexes relevant medical materials including medical records, radiology studies, pathology materials, audit trails, and billing records.
Analyzes medical records and prepares medical chronologies.
Assist in obtaining expert witnesses and prepares records packages for expert reviews.
Drafts and / or assists attorneys with legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, interrogatories, request for production and request for admissions;
Files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures as needed.
Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, jury verdicts / settlements, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
Drafts factual content of status reports as required by insurers.
Prepares, organizes, indexes, and tracks case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.
Acts as liaison between trial team and external third parties and business partners.
Assists at trial with voir dire, jury research and selection, witness coordination, and any other related duties as assigned.

- Familiarity with electronic court filing systems in state and federal courts
- Degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
- Three to five of proven litigation experience strongly preferred.
