Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to handle complex cases involving allegations of medical negligence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical malpractice defense or related litigation experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients, experts, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in medical malpractice defense cases from inception through trial and appeal.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client defense.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents including motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
- Manage all aspects of case preparation, including depositions, expert witness coordination, and case strategy development.
- Attend court hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide strategic legal advice.
- Stay current with developments in medical malpractice law and related legal fields.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in Virginia with a valid license.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical malpractice defense or a related area of law preferred.
- Proven track record of handling complex litigation and achieving favorable outcomes.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
