Job Posting: Human Resources Administrator
The HR Administrator position is responsible for multi-jurisdiction Payroll processing and performing moderately complex administrative tasks. Responsible for maintaining current and accurate employment records, coordination of Health Insurance and other benefits enrollments, under the guidance and supervision of the Human Resources Manager. Responsible for providing excellent customer service to our crewmembers. The successful candidate will be analytical, have keen attention to detail, and enjoy working with Excel spreadsheets and numbers, as well as people. Prior experience with ADP highly desirable.
Location: Bellingham, WA – Hybrid eligible after 6 months
Starting hourly wage range: $28.85 – $35.57 per hour (DOE)
Primary duties include:
- Perform moderately complex administrative tasks relating to employment records, multi-jurisdiction payroll processing, 401k contribution documentation, HSA enrollment and processing of bi-monthly contributions
- Coordinate crewmember participation in company provided health insurance benefits, supplemental benefits, and Saturna-specific benefits such as childcare reimbursements
- Respond to employee questions related to Payroll or Benefits, or other existing company handbook policies
- Establish and maintain files to meet the organization’s industry regulatory requirements, as well as federal, state and local employment laws
- Maintain HRIS database, and accurate record keeping, both electronic and hard-copy
- Responsible for accurate reporting and collaboration on quarterly updates for HR Department

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Min. one year of prior Payroll processing experience required
- SHRM or other professional HR Certification preferred
- Obtain FINRA SIE and Series 99 within first 9 months of employment
- Candidates must successfully complete pre-employment requirements such as a logic test, background and credit check, drug screening and reference check.
