Shaker Regional School District is seeking an Academic-Behavior-Learning Environment Assistant to work with education certified staff to collect data and monitor behavior of students exhibiting angry, aggressive, withdrawn, or other correctable behaviors while at school. Must be able to implement and sustain positive behavior strategies for children while promoting positive reinforcement. Associates Degree required.This position is 6-1/2 hours per day, 184 days per year (178 school days; 2 workshop days and 4 paid holidays and qualifies forbenefits including district contribution toward health insurance plus fully paid dental, life, and long-term disability.Essential Duties & Responsibilities include: 1. Provide direct support to students by teaching and modelling research/evidence based interventions and curriculum.2.
Coordinate with Teacher and Behavior Specialist/Liaisons and school staff to implement behavior curriculum and support interventionplans.3. Must be flexible as students will need support in both regular and special education environments.4. Provide interventions to enable students to remain in school and/or help stabilize behaviors.5. Assist with data collection and analysis.Other Duties & Responsibilities: 1.
Must be able to function independently and have the ability to work effectively with students.2. Must be able to work with emotionally upset and, at time, hostile students within the school.3. Must maintain a positive approach at all times and collaborate effectively with team members.Competencies: 1. Good management skills.2.
