What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transition Assistant/Job Coach - 6.5 hours/day position at SAU 80, Shaker Regional School District?

Obtain list of special needs students who have signed up for the Practical Work Experience class from high schools.2. Interview and assess the special needs students participating in the class.3.
Assure that parental consent forms have been signed and returned for each participating student.4. Assure that each job site is compatible with the respective students interest and abilities.5. Obtain specific job requirements and duties for each students position and convey that information to the student and the managing special education teacher.6. Determine the employers receptivity to the presence of a job coach at the work site.7.
Conduct task analysis and job analysis through periodic interviews with the student and the employer.8. Evaluate and monitoR the special needs students performance and progress through quarterly progress reports.9. Provide copies of progress reports/evaluations to the managing special education teacher.10. Maintain a file containing information regarding employer contacts noted by visit, phone or letter.11.
Maintain specific information for each job position regarding employer name, location, type of business, and general description of duties.12. Maintain a summary file of students progress, including identification of any problem areas.13. Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully-certified teachers.14. Has regular and predictable attendance.
