Veterinary Assistant/CSR
Saugerties Animal Hospital in Saugerties, NY
$16.00-$18.00 an hour based on experience
This position is primarily an assistant position, but the team member will be trained and work as a CSR as needed.
The hours for this position will be Monday 9am-6pm, Wednesday-Friday 9am-6pm (36 hours).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Executing treatment orders
Collecting urine samples – void
Keeping cages clean and sanitized
Walking, feeding, and picking up after the animals
Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage etc.)
Taking Radiographs
Use IDEXX Lab Machines
Restraining animals
Outpatient procedures- assisting with appointments
Filling prescribed medications
Answers telephone calls quickly, efficiently and in a professional and friendly manner using a multi-line system
Warmly greets clients
Prepares patient files
Receives and relays client correspondence and updates client financial records
Answers client’s inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures
Educates clients on over-the-counter products such as flea and tick preventions
Handles payment transactions
Receives and relays telephone, fax, and email messages accurately and promptly

REQUIREMENTS
1 plus year veterinary experience or education
Team-oriented
Ability to multi-task
Ability to lift 50 pounds
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working as a Veterinary Receptionist/CSR is preferred but not required
Significant experience with basic office functions in a busy office environment
Must be a team player and have compassion for pets and their people
