What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saugus High School Paraprofessional position at Saugus Middle High School?
Statement of Duties:
• Assists in the teaching process and works directly with children under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher and/or Special Education teacher and Education Team Leader.
• Potential responsible of assisting in toileting of individual students, physically lifting and physically assisting students.
• Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the teacher, principal, Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Saugus School Committee
· Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Principal/PPS Director.
Qualifications:
• Prefer prior experience with students in a school or similar setting
• Meets criteria for paraprofessionals as established by MA DESE (DOE) Standards; minimum of Associates Degree Or 48 credit equivalent or Highly Qualified according to District standards
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority: Works under supervision of teachers/ETL who are responsible to the Building Principal and the Director of Pupil Personnel Services
