Position Description:
Sauk Prairie School District is seeking a student-centered, technology-savvy, energetic educator with a passion for teaching to join our Science Department as a teacher in the Sauk Prairie School District. The members of our current Science Department have a variety of licenses; and we are looking for a flexible teammate who can join that team. The assignment could be Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
In addition to exemplary credentials in science, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated history that would include the following experiences and dispositions:
- Use of data to inform programming goals and evaluate student progress
- Comfort and expertise in growing students within a project-based learning environment
- Knowledge and implementation of trauma-informed instructional practices
- Content-area literacy instruction
- A passion for working with High School students
Sauk Prairie High School just completed a four-year, $60 million dollar refurbishment, transforming our 60 year old school into a modern facility that will serve the needs of our community for another 50 years. Sauk Prairie Middle School is in the early stages of a facilities study which will lead to a remodel of that learning community. The person filling this role will be integral to the team redesigning learning in these new, state of the art facilities.
District Description:
The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie. They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River. Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district. The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams. The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles). The district serves 2,800 students, and comprises six learning communities with a high school of 850 students, middle school of 600 students and four elementary schools of 1,350 students.
WI DPI Certification Required: 2600 - Science Or at least two of the following: 1605- Biology,1606 - Life and Environmental Science, 1610 - Chemistry, 1625 - Physics.
Start Date: August 26, 2025. Two days of new teacher in-service the week before. School begins on September 2, 2025.
