Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Generalist to join our team at the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. As a key member of the Health Division, this role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with tribal laws, regulations, and standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures related to human resources, ensuring compliance with tribal laws, regulations, and standards.
- Provide expert guidance and support to management and supervisors on human resources-related matters, including employee relations, benefits, compensation, recruitment, and performance management.
- Analyze and resolve complex human resources issues, ensuring fairness, equity, and compliance with tribal laws and regulations.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with tribal employees, management, and external stakeholders, promoting positive communications and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field; five years of demonstrated ability in relevant work experience may be substituted for degree.
- Three years of experience working in the Human Resources field is required. Three years of experience investigating and resolving EEO complaints is required.
- THRP (Tribal Human Resources Professional) certification preferred.
