What you’ll be doing:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical procedures.
Maintain document control for food safety policy, procedure, and form
Conduct internal facility food safety audits and issue corrective action based on audit results
Track and Report Internal Food Safety and Quality Audit results to Senior Leadership
Oversee and Enforce all GMP, GAP and HACCP Food Safety Programs in the milling and soy processing business
Understand SQF and BRC Food Safety Requirements, GMS Safe, and other industry standards and support the Director of Food Safety & Compliance in the development and maintenance of the Food Safety Management System Standards and Programs
Alongside the Director of Food Safety & Compliance, you will be responsible for the Food Safety Management System requirements throughout the manufacturing and supply chain process to ensure execution and compliance with company policies / processes, regulatory requirements
Responsible for coordinating customer, regulatory, and 3rd party audits related to food safety
Responsible to be point of contact for site services related to the maintenance of food safety and quality systems (such as Pest Control and Kosher Certification)
Ensure effective monitoring and communication of corporate performance metrics as well as local metrics to improve areas of focus
Responsible point of contact for external customer, regulatory, and certification audits as well as follow-up and corrective action completion/verification of effectiveness
Support the Director of Food Safety & Compliance in maintaining customer specific regulatory and compliance food safety and quality questionnaires and other compliance document requests to maintain supplier approval with customers.
Support the Director of Food Safety & Compliance with tracking customer incidents, categorizing, and following up on corrective and preventive actions in relation to prevention of future customer incidents.
Provides oversight and support for all significant quality events, and near-misses.
Support site leadership with traceability and routine traceability testing.
Support site leadership with root cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions.
Develop, Maintain, and improve Food Safety training content for site operations.

Experience in maintaining a functional HACCP/Food Safety Program
Working knowledge of Food Plant Sanitation, Pest Control and Good Manufacturing Practices.
In depth knowledge of the SQF and BRC Food Safety Audit Standards and audit process.
Experience working with Regulatory Affairs (USDA & FDA)
Experience working with Kosher requirements
Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Certification and HACCP Certification preferred
Experience with Pest Management Companies / Experience developing a Pest Management Program
Basic knowledge of SDS
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint)
Experience with soy processing (oil, soybean meal, pellets) and flour or bakery products is a plus
A Bachelor’s degree in a discipline like Food Science/Engineering, Microbiology, Food or Analytical Chemistry or similar area of concentration recommended or 4 or more years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, and/or food safety in a food processing environment
Physical Requirements:
This job is not overly physically strenuous
You must be able to sit and/or stand and operate lab equipment and utilize computers
Occasionally, you will need to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
Able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders
This job is mainly in a controlled-atmosphere environment, indoors in an office building, but you will have frequent exposure to outdoor and processing areas of the facility
This job may occasionally require oversight and inspection of areas that are up to 100’ high
