Major Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician at Savage’s Williston Facility will be responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of equipment used at the facility
Responsibilities / Job Duties:
Perform minor/major repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on pickups, mobile equipment, conveyors, tractors, and trailers.
Assists with other facility mechanical repairs as necessary, maintains shop cleanliness and parts inventory
Learn and partner with the Maintenance Manager to utilize Manager and SAP as a tool of organization and preventative maintenance record-keeping
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements
Follow proper safety rules, maintenance, and operating procedures, Assist with writing and revising maintenance procedures as needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
Experience needed in troubleshooting, repairing hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems, in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer-based systems, and being able to visually recognize problems a big plus
Be able to read, write, and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions, excellent communication skills
Welding experience a plus, willingness to do a significant amount of preventative maintenance, prepared to help with anything requiring attention, as directed by the Maintenance Manager
Effective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors, and other team members
Self-starter capable of working independently, in line with company goals, strategies, and policies, and ability to be on call at designated times
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion, a strong record of continuous improvement, personal development, and attention to detail
Education/Experience:
Prior experience as a mobile equipment mechanic/diesel mechanic, pickups, tractors, and trailers required
Physical Requirements:
Will be on your feet for extended period of time throughout the day
Navigating the facility will include, but is not limited to, exposure to harsh weather conditions, uneven ground, ladders, racks, and other high places, ground that can be slick or uneven, and other industrial hazards
The work site is an industrial setting and will require someone who can work safely around this type of environment, as well as ensure compliance with strict OSHA and State regulations
