Position Overview
The regional Sales Representative will be responsible for expanding Deli Brands of America’s market share by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, customer service, and market development while ensuring a positive representation of the company within the assigned territory. The individual will work closely with internal teams, brokers, and business partners to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow the existing customer distributor base.
- Develop and sustain long-term customer relationships to drive sales growth.
- Increase market share and gross profit within the assigned territory.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional company image.
- Collaborate with internal teams, brokers, and business partners to achieve sales goals.
- Present new products, conduct training sessions, and support customers through sales ride-along and food shows.
- The Regional Representative will report directly to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and work closely with R&D, Operations, and Sales & Marketing teams at the parent company. The ability to work effectively across departments is critical to job performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a food brokerage or as a sales representative for a food manufacturer.
- Regular exposure to raw and cooked beef and other proteins should be expected. Product sampling and product knowledge will be essential. Training will be provided by Deli Brands of America personnel.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel locally and overnight as needed.
Technical & Soft Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively engage with customers, colleagues, and business partners.
Additional Preferences
- Home base is flexible within the East Coast part of the country, preferably in the Mid-Atlantic region. Frequent visits to the Baltimore production facility will be necessary.
Compensation
- Compensation will be based on experience, contacts in food sales, including manufacturer representatives, distributor representatives, or food brokers.
