9th & 10th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Studies Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social studies and the ability to engage students through innovative teaching methods. This role involves creating a dynamic classroom environment that fosters critical thinking and encourages students to explore historical, cultural, and societal issues. The Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for developing lesson plans that align with curriculum standards while incorporating elements of journalism and creative writing to enhance student learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover various aspects of social studies, including history, geography, economics, and civics.
• Utilize creative writing assignments to encourage students to express their understanding of social concepts.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Provide individualized support to students, adapting teaching styles to meet diverse learning needs.
• Incorporate library services into lessons to promote research skills and critical analysis.
• Assess student progress through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with other educators to enhance interdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Stay updated on current events and integrate relevant topics into the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with a focus on Social Studies.
• Previous teaching experience in a private school setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong skills in journalism and proofreading, with the ability to guide students in effective writing techniques.
• Excellent behavior management skills to create a conducive classroom atmosphere.
• Ability to inspire students and cultivate a love for learning about social studies topics.
• Proficient in using technology and educational tools to enhance instruction.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.50 per hour
